The hall is well equipped with excellent resources to support five of the P.E strands:

  • Athletics
  • Dance
  • Gymnastics
  • Outdoor and Adventure Activities
  • Games.

Aquatics and water safety awareness is taught with Digital Learning support in the classroom.

The local GAA Club provides us with a football coach. He visits the school one morning a week to coach the children in football skills.

In previous years, our pupils have had opportunities to learn from external tennis, athletics and cricket coaches from the local area.

For our dance strand of the PE curriculum, the children are taught several dances by the Principal and teachers in May which they perform at our Annual Sponsored Dance.  The Sponsored Dance is one of our main fundraising events.  All monies raised are used to offset the deficit between the Capitation Grant and the cost of running the school.

All of the above activities are carefully timetabled so that the children receive equal access to all the P.E. strands.

We have an Annual Sports Day.  The Junior Infants Sports Day takes place on the school grounds and consists of fun activities such as musical cushions, parachute activities, egg and spoon race, relay’s etc.  The Senior Infants and First Class children go to the grounds of Malahide Castle for their sports day.   A great day is always had by all!
