St Sylvester’s Infant School launches their new Scooter Park
Mrs Dunne, the school principal believes that it is so important for children to walk, scoot or cycle to school as not only is it good for their health but it wakes them up in the morning and stimulates their brains. Families who live a distance from the school are encouraged to park in Bridgefield each morning as it provides one hour free parking, and from there, scoot or walk to school.
TD Darrgh O’Brien and past pupil officially opened the scooter park and praised the work of the school, teachers and parents Association who worked so hard with Ally xxxx, the green Schools Travel Coordinator, to initiate this venture. Green schools provided 4 free scooter bays and the school decided that they were good ( and cute) to buy 3 more!
The school will be officially relaunching their Walk on Fridays from Friday 4th May where children are encouraged to Walk, Scoot or Cycle to school.
